Miss Limerick 2015

Nollaig Malone, who just celebrated her 21st birthday last Saturday, has been crowned Miss Limerick 2015. The Corbally girl was chosen from 30 girls at the beauty pageant in Crush 87 nightclub last Thursday to represent Limerick at the Miss Ireland competition in July.

The 5’8” blonde beauty is a media student who has been doing her work placement in Limerick’s Live 95FM and was at work at 8am the day after her win.  “Work comes first!,” Nollaig tells me. “I really did not expect to win. I am so shocked to have won. I’m just amazed – I feel like I am dreaming.”  A fluent Irish speaker, Nollaig is studying media through Irish in NUI Galway. She attended Gaelscoil Sairseal primary school and Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh secondary school. “I’m just finishing my third year now so I will be going into fourth year in September.”

Model agent Celia Holman Lee, who organises the Miss Limerick competition, said all the ladies who took part were “amazing”. Nollaig, she said, “is just gorgeous”. “She is a Limerick girl, she’s beautiful and we wish her the very best for Miss Ireland.”
